Summary of Duties VISN 16 Teleradiology Center Diagnostic Radiologist:
- Provides overflow interpretation services to remote client locations.
- Interprets diagnostic digital radiography, CT, MRI and US examinations of the head, spine, neck, body, extremities and internal organs as appropriate.
- Communicates and documents communication of life-threatening findings immediately by referring physicians to the remote facilities.
- Functions in a professional manner in all relationships with management, co-workers and referring physicians.
- Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA policy.
- Protects the data from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion.
- Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes, etc.
- Uses word processing software to execute several office automation functions, such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text, formatting letters, reports, and memoranda; and transmitting and receiving e-mail.
- Uses the Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture (VistA) to access information in the Medical Center Computer System.
- Potential starting base salary range: $380K-$400K
- Daily schedule: Virtual, 7 ON/ 7 OFF
- Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans up to $200K over 5 years, if approved.
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days paid for CME)
- No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
