Job Description
Department desires to hire part timetechnicians to provide support for ophthalmologists and/or optometrists. Duties may include the following:
Conduct preliminary patient interviews and record relevant data such as chief complaint, health history, medications, and allergies for the physician's review. Measure vitals when necessary.
Prepare patient and exam rooms for all procedures and provide assistance to physicians for procedures.
Clean and restock exam rooms including restock of supplies, equipment and medications.
Review expiration dates of supplies and medication and take appropriate action.
Conduct a variety of eye examinations and testing as directed by physician.
Photographs medical phenomena of eye to document diseases, surgeries, treatments, and congenital problems.
Focuses specialized microscope and cameras to take two- three-dimensional photographs of external, anterior and posterior segments of eye.
Monitors patients gaze through lens of microscope camera to make sure that patient complies with instructions to obtain desired results.
May photograph eye to document research studies.
Assist physicians as required and perform all other duties as assigned.
Shift
Shifts will vary, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Up to 20 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Hiring Range:$18.50-$34.18 (hourly)
