This role involves diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions, performing minor procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries.
- Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe appropriate treatments.
- Provide immediate care for minor trauma, lacerations, sprains, fractures, and infections.
- Manage chronic conditions as needed in the context of urgent care visits.
- Counsel patients on preventive healthcare practices and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Clinical Procedures
- Conduct minor surgical procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal.
- Administer injections, vaccinations, and other treatments.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, x-rays, and lab tests as necessary.
- Work closely with nursing staff, medical assistants, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Consult with specialists and primary care physicians as needed for patient management.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Attend regular staff meetings and continuing education sessions to stay updated on medical advancements and best practices.
- Education and Training
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Family Medicine residency program.
- Board Certification in Family Medicine.
- Licensure and Certification
- Current and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
- DEA certification for prescribing medications.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
