Position Overview : We are seeking a motivated, technically capable, self-starter to serve as one of three Knowledge Managers supporting the Southern Command Operations, Planning, and Engagement Support (SCOPES) program. The Knowledge Manager will enhance decision-making across USSOUTHCOM by capturing, organizing, and sharing knowledge assets using Microsoft 365 enterprise IT solutions and advancing AI / ML capabilities from the Department of Defense's ADVANA program. This individual will be responsible for implementing and executing cohesive Knowledge Management (KM) strategies in both unclassified and classified environments while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
KM Strategy Implementation : Support design efforts and work to implement Command KM Development Plans for the SCOPES program, utilizing industry best practices tailored to USSOUTHCOM’s current and future requirements.
Knowledge Capture & Sharing : Capture and organize individual and organizational knowledge, using tools provided by enterprise IT solutions to optimize insights and streamline knowledge-sharing across government-approved platforms.
Collaborative Environments : Develop and maintain unclassified and classified collaborative environments using Microsoft 365 solutions, promoting cross-functional knowledge sharing across all Command levels.
External Stakeholder Engagement : Identify and link external shareholders, subject matter experts, and centers of excellence to ensure robust collaboration and alignment with appropriate KM processes.
Process & Tool Optimization : Maintain awareness of tools and processes within the Command. Provide actionable recommendations for enhancing knowledge storage, access, and dissemination using Microsoft 365 and other IT solutions.
User Support & Training : Conduct KM-related training and user support to encourage agile knowledge sharing and improve decision-making cycles. Ensure users can fully utilize Microsoft 365 and ADVANA capabilities. Governance &
Compliance : Enforce KM governance policies and administer content in compliance with statutory and regulatory guidelines.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement : Support Command KM assessment efforts by generating routine progress reports. See to prototype use of ADVANA’s AI / ML tools and user feedback to continuously improve content structures and align with changing organizational needs.
