Medical Assistant with Billing experience

The Uintah and Ouray Health Clinic, part of the Indian Health Service, is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant with experience in Medical Billing to join our team as a long-term Contractor. As a Medical Assistant Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment. This includes managing patient billing, payments, and insurance claims for our Family Medical Clinic. This is a long-term contract position with great pay, paid holidays, and Benefits.

• Family Health Clinic, Medical Biller/Medical Assistant
• Up to a 1-year contract, with extension option
• Full-Time hours, 8-hour day shifts
• Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
• 11 paid Federal Holidays, Health Insurance options
• Basic Life Support CLS certification is required
• Medical Billing and CMA Certification preferred
• Onsite
• Previous IHS experience preferred
• Adult and Pediatric

Responsibilities:

• Create invoices for medical procedures
• Submit insurance claims
• Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Communicate with Patients and Insurance companies to resolve billing issues
• Perform Medical Assistant duties and basic medical procedures under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• 2-3 Years of Experience in a medical office environment
• 2 years of Medical Billing & Medical Assistant experience needed
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Certified/licensed Medical Assistant Certificate Preferred
• Degree or diploma programs in medical billing and coding Preferred
• Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) Required
• Certifications and licenses must be active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent computer and organizational skills Required
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must be willing to submit to a federal background check
