Blackfeet Community Hospital is hiring Long Term Contract Locum Physicians for our Emergency Room located in Browning, Montana. This is a government owned and operated facility providing inpatient services and outpatient. All of these departments are headed by board-certified or board-eligible chiefs of staff.

This is a Long Term  ER MD/DO contract opportunity. 

• Flexible Hours, Day, Night and Mid shifts available

- Local or Travel Locums please apply

• Emergency Room experience as an MD Required

• Up to 1 year contract with extension options

• 2-3 years of experience Needed

• IHS facility experience preferred

• Previous Locum Tenens experience preferred

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine needed

• Work on any US license

• Adult and Pediatric experience needed

Provide professional emergency medical services or direct patient care services as follows:

Make preliminary diagnosis, directs, prescribes or provides treatment, or arranges for specialized care of patient referral as required. Evaluates patients, adult/adolescents who come to the emergency room.

Shall provide patient care as needed and obtain consultant as needed. Patients are often critical and may require immediate decision or are complicated because patient fail to respond to previously tried treatment regimens. Provides primary medical care to patients with wide spectrum of illnesses in the emergency room.

Shall provide emergency care on a regular and ongoing basis to patients seen in the emergency room. This includes stabilization and transfer of major trauma (penetrating wounds, hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, significant blunt trauma etc.).

Must be competent in the management, stabilization and transfer of pediatric trauma, pediatric advanced life support, adult cardiac life support, psychiatric emergencies such as suicide, and complex/critical medical conditions (septic shock, cardiopulmonary shock, end stage renal disease etc.).

Be competent in advanced airway management including endotracheal intubation and Rapid Sequence Intubation.

Indian Preference Exercised: 

Prairie Band, LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 2 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B). 

Requirements

1) Must have an active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Montana or one of the other 49 states in the USA, or the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

2) American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM) Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians or Family Medicine.

3) Active DEA

In addition to Board Certification the Indian Health Services requires current active Life Certifications listed below:

4) BLS (Basic Life Support)

5) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

6) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

7) ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)

Must complete Credentialing requirements within 10 days of offer

Must be willing to complete process and pass Federal Security Clearance
