Job Title: Payroll/HRIS Administrator
This is a critical role that supports the HR department and ensures employees are compensated accurately. The Payroll/HRIS Administrator will manage and oversee our payroll & HRIS system and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll & Tax Processing:
- Prepare and process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Partner with third-party administrators to apply for state tax setup as needed.
- Calculate and record earnings, deductions, and adjustments, including overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
- Review payroll reports and make necessary corrections before final submission.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and labor laws.
- Prepare and submit required tax filings, reports, and payments on time.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and employee files.
- Employee Support:
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accurate data entry for new hires and terminations.
- System Management:
- Maintain and update HRIS/payroll software and systems to ensure accurate data processing and securities.
- Collaborate with IT and third-party software administrators to troubleshoot any technical issues related to the systems.
- Auditing and Reconciliation:
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist HR with regular audits of employee data and help resolve system issues.
- Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 and 1099 preparation and audits, ensuring all reconciliations are completed accurately.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the HR department on various people and payroll-related matters, including benefits administration and employee classification.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Payroll/HRIS Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems; familiarity with specific software is a plus.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
