Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Contract Pharmacist to join our healthcare team at Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center in Warm Springs, OR.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients. This position requires a strong foundation in clinical pharmacy practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate medication therapy.
- Dispense medications accurately and provide clear instructions to patients regarding their use.
- Conduct patient assessments to monitor medication efficacy and safety.
- Manage inventory levels of pharmaceuticals, ensuring proper storage and handling.
- Provide consultations on pain management strategies and medication-related issues.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy software systems.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques when preparing sterile medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in hospital settings, including pediatrics, to deliver optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Be a graduate of an accredited pharmacy program/school.
- State licensed in pharmacy within the United States.
- Previous contract experience is a plus.
- Previous IHS facility experience is helpful.
- Have at least 2 years of experience required.
- Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
Additional Information
This is a flexible long-term contract position with extension possibilities. Pharmacy hours are Monday-Thursday from 8am-7pm, Friday from 8am-5pm, with no weekends or holidays. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to pass Federal Security Clearance pre-hire.
