What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer position at PRAIRIE BAND POTAWATOMI ENTERTAINMENT CORP?
Enforces company security regulations, ensures a controlled and safe environment at Prairie Band Casino & Resort. May assist with minor medical situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must project professionalism, and a consistently friendly demeanor while interacting with internal and external guests
- May perform dispatch as assigned
- Monitors the safety and security of the external facility if assigned as Parking Lot Officer
- Escorts all internal money transfers throughout Prairie Band Casino & Resort facility
- Safeguards Prairie Band Casino's assets
- Enforces Tribal State Gaming Regulations including the System of Internal Controls and Emergency Operating Procedures
- Prepares Accident Reports and Security Incident Reports
- Escorts Gaming chips, coin and cash
- Monitors collecting and transporting Drop Boxes to storage area
- Reports improper or illegal acts or suspected improper or illegal acts to the Security Supervisor or Security Shift Manager
- May assist with medical situations and render first aid when required
- May train new Security Officers as necessary
- Resolves service problems including difficult situations according to guidelines
- Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly working environment
- Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same
- Additional duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a good driving record and be able to drive in all weather conditions
- General knowledge of basic computer skills
- Basic mathematic proficiency
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, bi-lingual a plus
- Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Must adhere to the professional appearance standard as outlined in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook
- Ability to meet attendance guidelines set forth in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook
- Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment
Preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- 6 months previous customer service or related experience
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations
- Able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels and bright lights
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and grip items when necessary
- Excellent vision, including peripheral
- Respond to visual and aural cues
- Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
- Excellent hearing with the ability to wear an ear piece for 8-10 hours
- Able to stand or walk for 8-10 hours
- Able to use tact when dealing with difficult customers
- Must be physically able to restrain combative customers
- Must be able to meet the level three or medium work requirements based on the Department of Labor Dictionary of Titles: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
