Role:
Provide support in payroll processing, budgeting, and grants management. This position must have a basic understanding of payroll processing, budgeting principles, and familiarity with grant management accounting functions.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all minimum requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience: 2 years of payroll, general accounting, or financial operations experience.
Education: Associates degree with a preferred emphasis on accounting, finance or related field of study from an accredited two-year institution.
Interpersonal Skills:
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200
- Microsoft excel and complex formulas.
- Various accounting software.
- Analysis in preparing financial reports.
- Accounting/Finance knowledge
- Knowledge of payroll processing
- Knowledge of budgeting principles
Skills:
- Interpersonal: Remains open to others' ideas and exhibits a willingness to try new processes; strong written and verbal communication skills for working with and explaining financial data to employees at a variety of levels in an organization.
- Organization: Uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
- Accuracy: Monitors own work for quality.
- Analytical: Good judgment and decision making when preparing financial reports.
- Technological: Operate general equipment, including but not limited to 10-key calculator, telephone, computer and operating systems, computer software programs (Microsoft Office programs), fax/copier machine perform job duties as expected. Create excel documents with complex formulas.
Abilities:
- Ability to be a self-starter and work in a deadline driven environment.
- Ability to follow instructions, collaborate, and accept direction and feedback.
- Ability to adapt to change according to new procedures and/or processes.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to perform under high levels of stress during peak times.
