ServiceNow Security Architect Principal Solutions Architect (Contract-to-Hire) Location: Hybrid (Tempe, Arizona or Downtown Chicago, Illinois)

This is a high-impact, highly visible role focused on strengthening and evolving security across the ServiceNow platform within a large-scale enterprise environment.
Our direct client, a major enterprise organization, is seeking a ServiceNow Security Architect to lead security solutioning within the platform. This role is dedicated entirely to security not a hands-on developer position but requires the technical depth to collaborate effectively with developers and drive platform-wide improvements.
You ll report directly to the Technical Lead and serve as a critical resource as the team prepares for an RCE audit this July. This is not a role for someone who needs ramp-up time we re looking for an experienced, confident professional who can hit the ground running and own this space.
Top Must-Haves:
- 5 years of focused ServiceNow experience strong platform knowledge required
- Deep understanding of ACLs (Access Control Lists) and access governance
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments (comparable to Northern Trust)
- Exposure to IDM (Identity Management) and internal tools such as CyberArk
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices and handling security across complex system landscapes (400 systems)
- Proven track record of identifying and closing security gaps on the ServiceNow platform
- Development background is a plus helpful to understand developer workflows (will not be doing any coding)
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a principal architect dedicated to ServiceNow security strategy and governance
- Architect and implement scalable access control models and enhance platform security
- Prepare the platform and team for upcoming audits, ensuring compliance and readiness
- Collaborate closely with teammates on access and identity governance without managing direct reports
- Lead creation and refinement of statements of work and ensure proper IDM alignment
- Serve as a go-to resource for platform security, driving continuous improvement and high visibility outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (ServiceNow, Security, ITIL)
- Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required)
- Experience in audit-intensive or heavily governed environments
