What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Mechanic position at Prairie Dunes Country Club?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lubricates and services all course maintenance equipment
- Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies
- Repairs and adjusts equipment
- Maintains repair records on all equipment
- Helps to train grounds staff in proper equipment maintenance methods
- Interviews and recommends applicants for maintenance staff positions
- Demonstrates use of new equipment
- Trains personnel in proper use of equipment
- Works with the Lead Mechanic to establish safety procedures for using equipment
- Helps to maintain safety records
- Performs general overhaul and other preventive maintenance on all equipment
- Maintains and repairs carts as needed
- Maintains sufficient inventory of parts and tools to support a quality cart repair and maintenance program
- Organizes strictly scheduled preventive maintenance program for all carts
- Repairs equipment associated with irrigation
- Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment associated with irrigation
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a friendly and positive personality
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic
- Knowledge about the game of golf preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS – ABILITY TO:
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry or transport up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk frequently; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Ability to perform the duties of this job while exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly.
