What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dining Room Supervisor position at Prairie Dunes Country Club?
As a Food and Beverage employee timeliness, positivity and a sense of urgency are a must. An up-beat attitude is necessary and a member-first mind state is mandatory. Keeping a clean and organized environment is a job requirement as it ensures an expedited and efficient delivery of product. Being able to multitask and make well thought out decisions is a must.
Starting pay for this role is based on previous experience within the F&B Industry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Must lead by example.
- Punctuality! Punctuality displays a person’s respect for people, time, and sets the example to other staff members.
- Be the “Face” of Prairie Dunes by greeting members and guests as they enter the clubhouse.
- May serve as club’s opening and closing manager or manager on duty.
- Able to lead staff through all service types (a la carte, buffet, etc.).
- Assists in event setup, service, and breakdown.
- Creates seating chart and places servers/bartenders
- Directs pre-shift meetings with dining room personnel; summarizes pre-shift meetings in End of Shift Notes
- Works with the Director and other supervisors to create an effective schedule to ensure all dining areas are well staffed.
- Receives and resolves complaints concerning dining room service, escalating to the Director of F&B or Chef, when necessary
- Assists the Director with training and the supervision of dining room staff.
- Assists in service as needed and when required, i.e. can and will be scheduled as the Club’s opening manager and opening server.
- Serves as liaison between the dining room and kitchen staff.
- Inspects dining room employees to ensure that they are always in proper and clean uniforms.
- Ensures that servers & bartenders are closing out chits,
- Ensures that servers & bartenders are doing the appropriate duties for the PM staff.
- Provides daily end of shift report via email.
- Helping resolve employee issues as they arise, escalating issues to the Director, General Manager, and/or Human Resources, if necessary
- Assures that all laws applicable to Prairie Dunes Country Club’s liquor license are followed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBITILITIES:
- Working with the Bar Manager on inventory and ordering of non - alcoholic beverages/mixers.
- Works with Director and other supervisors on Club Passport with weekly quizzes.
- Assists the Director in keeping Club Passport up to date on food and bar items, as well as upcoming events.
- Works with other supervisors on ensuring updating member wine locker lists
