Work primarily will be performed in IDOT District 4 with assigned office location as either Washington, IL or Keokuk, IA.
What you will Need:
- Education: Associate's Degree in civil engineering technology, Construction Management, or a related field plus minimum 2 years' field experience; or a Bachelor's Degree in a construction-related field, or 6 year's field experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection
-Licensure: Valid driver's license and clean driving record
-Travel: Able to travel to various construction sites as needed
-Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
-Software: Proficient in contract administration software, working knowledge of CAD

What you can Add:
-More Experience: IDOT, MoDOT, or local public agency experience
-More Knowledge: Working knowledge of surveying, material testing and testing equipment, understanding of DOT construction inspection and documentation policies and procedures developed through working on DOT, municipal and county projects
-Certifications: DOT DOC, PCC, HMA, MAT, CMMS
What you will Do:
-Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, regulations, best practices, and safety standards
-Monitor construction progress and quality, identifying issues or deviations from the plans and addressing
-Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors and stakeholders to resolve challenges and ensure timely project completion
-Accurately document and report inspection findings and recommend corrective actions
-Assist in the preparation and review of construction project documentation
-Participate in project coordination meetings to provide technical insights and recommendations
Salary range $25.00-50.00/hour determined by education, experience, and KSA's of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
