This position includes both field and office assignments and will require extensive travel to locations throughout the U.S. with occasional international travel possible. This isn't an easy position; we work long days in sometimes harsh conditions as well as remote locations. You must be able and willing to be a highly responsible, capable, and contributing member of our team, able to utilize technology, and think on your feet. This position will be full-time with paid travel expenses, per diem allowance for meals, and is available to be filled in several of our offices. What you Need:
- Experience: 2 years performing hydrographic surveys or 4 years as a land surveyor with a strong desire to expand expertise as demonstrated by the willingness to take hydrographic survey coursework outside of working hours
- Travel: Willingness to travel within the United States to meet project requirements
- Safety: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record

What you can Add:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Hydrography, or a related science field
- Certification: NSPS/THSOA Certification as a Hydrographer or Certified Survey Technician
- Licensure: Professional Surveyor or Surveyor Intern
- More Experience: Field control, topographic, and boundary surveys and CAD/GIS experience
What you will Do:
- Safe operation of small motor vessels in a variety of inland lakes and river environments and occasionally in near-coastal waters
- Lead and perform hydrographic surveys using HYPACK software and single-beam, multibeam, side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, magnetometer, and other state-of-the-art sensors and methods along with GPS positioning, LIDAR, and various Inertial Motion Sensors
-Perform and check office surveys including reduction of hydrographic surveys using HYPACK and other software, performing least squared and compass rule computations, and volume and area calculations
- Travel, often on short notice, and work safely in various locations and all types of weather conditions
Salary range $52,000-$156,000 determined by education, experience, licensure, and KSAs of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
