Ophthalmic Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our busy practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and document patients' medical and eye history using the EHR system.
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patient visits.
- Perform pre-exam screenings and diagnostic tests (training provided), including:
- Visual acuity and color vision testing
- Auto-lensometry and autorefraction
- Tonometry, Amsler grid, and pupil evaluation
- Additional testing as required
- Assist physicians during minor procedures as needed.
- Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic and surgical instruments (training provided).
- Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong customer service skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to work proactively, communicate effectively, and collaborate with team members.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on efficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Receptive to learning new skills and adapting to change.
- Prior medical or ophthalmic experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical or ophthalmic experience preferred but not required.
