SUMMARY
The Revenue Audit Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing casino financial transactions and activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with established procedures as well as supervise Revenue Audit staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for daily audits of all gaming and non-gaming activity.
- Completes daily audits through verification/reconciliation within gaming/accounting software.
- Reviews and issues daily exception reports for variances to identified department leadership, reports to operating departments for follow-up and resolution.
- Responsible for generating accurate audit reports.
- Creates and uploads daily journal entries for gaming and non-gaming audit activity into a general ledger.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies while maintaining accurate and timely performance management documentation including both corrective and positive feedback for assigned team members.
- Interviews, selects, and trains employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, counseling, rewarding and corrective actions with employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Reviews daily audits of revenue audit department.
- Assists both internal and external auditors as necessary.
- Performs specialized audits, reviews and projects as directed.
- Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
- Responsible for maintaining a good attendance record in accordance with Prairie Flower Casino policies.
- Works the required schedule with flexibility to meet the needs of a 24/7 business. Works physically onsite to interact personally with team members and others.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Associate’s degree in accounting, three to five years of experience in accounting/audit, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in a casino revenue audit environment.
- Must possess effective communication and organizational skills.
- Must possess proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Experience working with Casino audit and slot software is preferred.
- Must have strong typing and 10-key skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, such as general ledger journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or questions from leaders and others within the company.
- Ability to effectively present and explain information to others in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form.
- Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- This position is in an office setting and requires the ability to be at a desk for the majority of the workday.
- Uses hands to manipulate and sort documentation, paperwork and use office equipment, including keyboard and computer.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Infrequent lifting required up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Sound levels within the office are normally low. May be required to access the casino daily where the noise level in the work environment may be loud.
- This casino has an enclosed gaming area where smoking is allowed. Team members may be exposed to a smoking environment in or around this designated smoking area.
