Availability:
Currently, we have a part-time Hospice Chaplain position available (approximately 5-10 hours weekly), which involves providing spiritual care to our patients and their loved ones.
As a Hospice Chaplain, you will:
- Be responsible for providing direct spiritual care to hospice patients and families/caregivers.
- Serves as liaison and support to community chaplains and spiritual counselors in supporting hospice patients/families.
- Participate in developing the interdisciplinary care plan for hospice patients.
- Document direct services and ongoing communication with community chaplains and spiritual counselors.
- Attends patient care conferences and interdisciplinary group meetings as a member of the interdisciplinary group.
- Assist in training community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and spiritual care volunteers to adequately meet patient and family/caregiver needs by developing community contacts and offering education through congregations about hospice care.
- Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
- Provides funeral or memorial services for patients as requested.
About You:
The candidate must meet these position qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv, or equivalent theological degree) is preferred.
- A current driver’s license is required.
- Reliable transportation is required.
Additional Experience Preferred:
- Two years of active work in spiritual ministry/program, and ability to work with family units and community spiritual leaders of various spiritual backgrounds.
- One year of clinical pastoral education is preferred.
Wage: Hourly $23.00 - $30.00
