We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team, focusing on providing support in an educational setting. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a crucial role in assisting teachers and enhancing the learning experience for students.
Job Summary:
The Paraprofessional will collaborate closely with teachers to facilitate daily instructional activities and provide essential support within the classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assists teacher in routine classroom operation.
- Implements/follow teacher’s instructions for classroom procedures.
- Prepares planned instructional materials, attendance reports, and class reports as assigned.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of class and student records.
- Assists in the supervision of students while they are loading and unloading buses, going to special classes, in the cafeteria, on the playground, etc., and in the classroom in the absence of the teacher.
- Assists with behavior management programs and techniques.
- Understands and assists in meeting the special needs of students.
- Maintains confidentiality and observes professional ethics.
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Certification:
- Associate degree or 60 hours college credit hours. Praxis Paraprofessional exam may be substituted for college hours.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work with young and older children.
- The ability to interact with the public and other staff is required.
- Ability to meet multiple demands from several people.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties
- with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
