Job Description:
The Chief School Business Official plays a critical role in the success of Prairie-Hills Elementary School District 144. This position oversees the district's financial operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines and grants.
Responsibilities:
- Assess business services and develop plans to facilitate fiscal matters for the district
- Advise the Superintendent and Board of Education on fiscal matters, including expenditures and revenue availability
- Prepare the annual budget and project capital and operating expenditure requirements
- Coordinate the total budgeting and accounting functions for monies throughout the district
- Administer and direct the total activities for maintenance of buildings and grounds
- Develop and administer employee fringe benefit programs
- Participate in community affairs and organizations to facilitate good communication throughout the district
- Perform other functions as assigned by the Superintendent
Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License with Chief School Business Official Endorsement
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience as a School Business Official, preferably in a K-8 environment
- Solid analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and school accounting
- Proficiency with business technology and software packages
