Qualifications
SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES
- The Pastry Cook is responsible for production in the pastry area.
- Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures.
- Prepares desserts for employee cafeteria, banquets, and restaurants.
- Experienced Pastry Cook will develop dessert menu ideas, develop recipes, and teach new employees the step-by-step process of preparing current dessert menu items.
- Follows recipes accurately and preps in advance.
- Checks ingredients and menu items for freshness; maintains a sanitary pastry station.
- Complies with department rules, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- May be required to assist in other departments when necessary or for training purposes.
- Maintaining Title 31 Compliance accurately.
- Other duties as assigned.
PREREQUISITES
General: Must be age18 or older. Must qualify for a Tribal Nongaming license.
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to communicate in the primary language of the workplace.
Experience: Minimum of one year food service, pastry preparation preferred.
Physical: Must be able to stand and exert well paced mobility for periods up to four (4) hours in length. Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, and other items up to 50 pounds in weight. Requires normal vision, including color acuity and depth perception, reaching, bending, stooping, grasping, finger dexterity, and hand/eye coordination. Must be able to perform safely and effectively in conditions of wet floors and temperature extremes.
