SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES
1. Establishes operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention and firefighting, traffic control and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring staff involved with classified information and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
2. Maintains a working knowledge of laws pertaining to gaming and safety, as well as procedures pertaining to gaming and related activities.
3. Confers with representatives of management to formulate policies, determine the need for programs, and coordinate programs with casino activities. Confers with representatives of local governments to ensure cooperation and coordination of casino activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
4. Directs activities of staff involved in industrial safety programs and maintains OSHA standards.
5. Posting safety and emergency notices as they are required by government regulations and keeping them up to date. Responsible for the organization of disaster crews.
6. Marking all organizational property to prevent loss or theft and maintain a secure and updated list of such property in the event of a disaster, for insurance purposes.
7. Be TIPS certified and practice this knowledge daily.
8. Works with Training Coordinator in preparation of emergency manuals and emergency procedures to deal with all emergencies.
9. Monitors all aspects of security and safety procedures and recommends changes in these manuals to the management.
10. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training staff; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
11. Preparation of Tribal & State Liquor Licenses, in accordance with Tribal & State Laws.
12. Controls budget for security operations and monitors expenses.
13. Ensures the safety of staff and guests within the workplace.
14. Responsible for administering an alcohol test to any employee suspected of working while under the influence of alcohol, using the Intoxilyzer 240 device.
15. Maintaining Title 31 Compliance accurately.
16. Other duties as assigned.
PREREQUISITES
General: Must be age 21 or older. Must qualify for a Tribal Key gaming license.
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, or one to two years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Law Enforcement experience and or Security Surveillance knowledge. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or employees of the Enterprise. Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, verify facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in verbal, written, oral, mathematical and diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Experience: Minimum of three years' experience in security supervisor capacity with one year experience in casino surveillance preferred. Must have experience in investigative and interrogation techniques.
Physical: Requires standing, walking, bending. May be required to lift up to 30 pounds. Must have good vision (corrected to 20/20).
