Qualifications
SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES
1. Assist the Security Manager with establishing operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention and firefighting, traffic control and patrolling property; orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with classified information; and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
2. Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of applicable laws pertaining to the gaming industry.
3. Directs activities of staff involved in industrial safety programs and maintains OSHA standards.
4. Assists in marking all organizational property to prevent loss or theft and maintain a secure and updated list of such property in the event of a disaster, for insurance purposes.
5. Assists with training and setting standards for security officers. Assists and conducts safety training.
6. Be TIPS Certified and practice this knowledge daily.
7. Assists with preparation of emergency manuals to deal with all emergencies.
8. Monitor all aspects of security and safety procedures and recommend changes to the Compliance Officer and Security Manager.
9. Must be First Responder Certified and maintain certification.
10. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the enterprise’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing, hiring, and training staff, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining staff, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
11. Maintaining Title 31 Compliance accurately.
12. Other duties as assigned.
PREREQUISITES
General: Must be age 21 or older and must qualify for a Key Tribal gaming license. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or employees of the enterprise. Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Experience: Minimum of one year of security experience preferred. Must have experience in investigative and interrogation techniques.
Physical: Requires standing, walking, bending and may be required to lift to 30 pounds. Must have good vision (corrected to 20/20).
