POSITION SUMMARY
Provides specialized care for nephrology patients in accordance with established standards, policies, and scope of practice under physician direction.
JOB-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will include travel to Outreach clinics and Dialysis sites for rounds.
Responsible for Outpatient Clinic visits, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis visits.
Responsible for assisting the Nephrologist with In-patient consultation work.
Expected to answer calls from Dialysis units during off hours.
Works in collaboration with physicians and other health professionals.
Monitors the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
Responsible for the ordering of diagnostic procedures.
Responsible for prescribing and dispensing prescription medication.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
Current certification from an accredited NP/PA program required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current certification from an accredited NP/PA program required.
Mandatory Basic and Advanced Life Support Training per policy
Meets criteria established by the profession to perform duties defined as those of a NP/PA
South Dakota and Minnesota Controlled Substance Certificate
DEA license Minnesota and South Dakota
Holds or is eligible for current licensure in South Dakota and Minnesota.
Computer Skills
Microsoft Office applications and CPSI
