Primary Care Clinic - Patient Access Representative
POSITION SUMMARY
Collects and verifies all patient demographical and financial information while adhering to ethical and legal standards and recognizing and responding to emergencies while demonstrating professional characteristics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Registers and admits patients by obtaining relevant patient demographic and insurance information.
Greets and provides information to patients and visitors.
Directs patients and visitors to the desired destination.
Schedules clinic appointments for patients.
Retrieves patient medical information from referring provider if applicable
Answers questions from patients regarding insurance, billing, and account balances.
Refers patients to Patient Accounts as necessary.
Collects and posts payments for services.
Other duties may be assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months prior hospital/medical or general office experience is required. Previous patient registration and computer experience are desirable.
