This position is in the Primary Care Clinic and is day shifts with no call requirement.
Responsibilities include:
- Explains process to patients and instructs and assists patients in assuming physical position for examination to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation.
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Performs radiographic procedures and applies principles of protection.
- Evaluates radiographs for technical quality.
- Provides patient care essential to radiographic procedure and recognizes patient condition requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures.
- Reviews images for proper identification and quality control and prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
- Assists technologists with preparing solutions used in radiologic and other diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Transports patients to radiologic diagnostic procedures.
- Files radiology orders
- Receives and stores incoming supplies.
- Follows x-ray safety guidelines and guidelines for proper start-up and shutdown.
- Operates the department computer system for scheduling and billing procedures.
- Operates PACS system to ensure all images are verified and sent.
- Starts IV's and administers IV contrast and/or medication when patient requires medication.
- Works with patients of all ages to develop an understanding of their physical and emotional status.
- May cross train as needed and perform studies in Ultrasound, BMD, CT, and MRI. Assists in cross-training other department personnel and/or students.
- Maintains supply inventory.
- Performs daily quality control, reports equipment malfunctions to the Radiology Director, and reports safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
Completion of two years of training in an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology.
Registry eligible by ARRT
Preference will be given to applicants with Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and/or Bone Mineral Density Testing experience.
