This position is responsible for delivery of volunteer services, including recruitment, training, recognition, and coordination of volunteer activities for Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. This is a part-time position (20 hours/week).
Wage Range-$17.46-$26.18
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as direct liaison to and coordinate all volunteer management activities for Prairie Lakes Healthcare System volunteer networks, including Same Day Surgery Desk, Gift Shop, Front Desk, Caring Club House, and other areas.
- Maintain communication between PLHS staff and volunteers to ensure the best possible match between organizational needs and volunteer capabilities.
- Coordinate volunteers for special projects and events related to donor development/stewardship.
- Management of Prairie Lakes Gift Shop including inventory, purchasing merchandise, and staffing.
- Assist volunteers in display of merchandise and educating volunteers how to run the till and credit card machine.
- Provide training and supplies for various volunteer activities, programs, and training.
- Develops, maintains volunteer database, reports, and tracks monthly volunteer, and training hours.
- Gather and distribute monthly calendars to all volunteers.
- Maintain background checks and required immunizations for all volunteers in a safe and secure manner.
- Attend and coordinate volunteer meetings as needed, including the coordination of annual volunteer recognition events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience History of working with volunteers, public relations, community service organizations or promotional work desired.
Computer Skills Microsoft Office applications.
Must have strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Seeking an individual that has demonstrated experience with leading volunteer functions.
Demonstrated ability to work with people of varying ages, backgrounds and abilities; experience working with volunteers preferred.
Ability to deal tactfully with hospital personnel, visitors, and the general public.
Must be a self-starter who is creative and possesses the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Occasional evening and weekends may be required.
