Responsible for all aspects of the department & staff on shift; making decisions or recommendations affecting employee relations issues, safety concerns & protection of company assets. Conducts continuous surveillance of all areas of the casino via floor surveillance and use of the CCTV system and maintain knowledge of all current table games, slot machines, and all other casino operations. Stay current on all changes to policies, rules, and regulations as they occur, and all other duties directed by Management in compliance with IRGC, DCI, departmental and company regulations.
PRIMARY TASKS:
Provides comprehensive training concerning all table games, slots, cage and count areas, as well as internal controls to protect company assets within company policies, internal controls and State regulations, in cooperation with the Iowa Gaming Commission and Division of Criminal Investigations.
Researches, implements and maintains the training program. Supervises, trains and sets up an ongoing training schedule to comprehensively train the Surveillance Department as instructed by the Manager/Assistant Manager.
Supports other Managers, Directors and Executives with assistance and information relating to the protection of assets in their respective departments, as well as Agents in the performance of their duties.
Must maintain or augment skills through review and self-study.
Assists with hiring and vetting applicants.
Schedules all personnel within the Surveillance on your respective shift and ensure adequate coverage of the adjoining shifts in the event of call offs.
To supervise all Monitor Room and floor surveillance activities.
To make recommendations to Management, based on observations made during Surveillance activity, concerning changes in the policies and procedures of other departments with the protection of company assets in mind.
Reports incidents to the Commission and DCI.
Report all significant indications of criminal activity to the Surveillance Manager in a timely manner.
Ensure that the integrity and confidentiality necessary in the department is maintained per company and departmental policies and procedures.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Graduate or equivalent. Minimum of two-years casino experience. Teaching or training experience preferred. Excellent presentation skills. Ability to train in a classroom setting or on-the-job. Proficiency in verbal and written communication. Must be capable of independently performing all job duties. Must demonstrate knowledge of CCTV equipment, computers and software. Must demonstrate proficiency in rules, regulations, internal controls and standard operating procedures. Excellent overall knowledge of casino operations and surveillance operations. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to deal with personnel problems and other department managers. Extensive study and memorization of regulations is necessary. Frequent quick decisions are required. Must possess suitable math skills to successfully audit & review live games. Ability to communicate and interact verbally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds. Must pass all relevant departmental testing procedures with pre-determined standards (i.e. Table Games program).
PHYSICAL CAPACITIES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Indoor environment. Ability to work long and varied hours. Adequate vision to maintain surveillance or review video coverage. Ability to hear and respond to radio traffic and audible alarms. Extensive note taking and report writing skills required. Other requirements will be: Firm grasping, sitting, walking, pushing/pulling, reaching, lifting/carrying kneeling, squatting, bending, standing. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Familiar with standard office equipment (i.e. computer, copier, shedder, etc.). Ability to work under pressure, deadlines, and adapt quickly to changes etc. is required.
