Small Projects Manager
Reports To: VP of Service
The mechanical industry is fast paced and detailed oriented, requiring a strong team to efficiently manage projects for our customers. We are seeking a small projects division manager with exceptional people skills and industry knowledge to provide exceptional experience for customers
Qualifications:
- Possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems design and installation of all three union trades (sheet metal, plumbing, steamfitting)
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and flexible to accommodate changes
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills – be able to communicate on a high level
- Ability to manage a variety of tasks
- Possess computer knowledge that includes MS Office Suite with the ability to learn new software
- Ability to build and cultivate strong relationships with office and field team
- Goal-oriented with a strong desire to execute personal, team and project goals
Job Functions:
- Oversee the scheduling and coordinating of the small projects team
- Communicate with account managers to verify scope of work, ensure projects meet timelines, and provide excellent customer service
- Cultivate strong relationships with the small projects team, managing them effectively by understanding their abilities, strengths/weaknesses, skillsets, and licenses for the success of each project
- Participate in job organization planning sessions
- Help identify and execute opportunities for pre-fabrication in small projects, coordinating with sheet metal and steamfitter fabrication foremen to complete fabrication timely and accurately
- Forecast manpower needs and work with all three trade’s superintendents to share labor between construction and small projects teams
Preferred Certificates/Licenses/Education:
- College degree and/or 5 years of experience in the Mechanical/HVAC/Plumbing (or related) industries
- Knowledge of the local unions and trade line agreements
