JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this position carries out and executes in field environmental and air compliance efforts. Primary responsibilities include local, state, and federal field environmental and air quality compliance for exploration and production related activities. Coordinates and works closely with Environmental team in complying with air compliance programs. Supports field compliance inspections, recordkeeping, communication, tracking and repairs for environmental compliance and ongoing improvements of air compliance systems including training and processes. Communicate regularly with Operations on environmental and air compliance matters under the direction and in coordination with the Field Environmental Compliance Supervisor. Supports Environmental team in managing field compliance and implementing new rules and requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) policies and procedures following tasks in assigned project site.
- Daily Analyzer calibration.
- Routine repair and maintenance of analyzers.
- Coordinate LDAR field activities with LDAR contract technicians.
- Maintain and complete monitoring schedules.
- Repair leaking components.
- Generate work requests and follow-up on LDAR maintenance repairs.
- Maintain record keeping on monitoring and repairs.
- Maintain identification of LDAR components and applicability reviews.
- Conduct routine inspections of oil and gas facilities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor drilling, completion, production, and abandonment activities for adherence to safety and environmental standards.
- Identify potential hazards or non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures.
- Perform environmental sampling (e.g., air, water, soil) as required by regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance activities.
- Support incident investigations by gathering data, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective measures.
- Provide EHS training to field personnel and contractors on topics such as H2S safety, spill response, and hazard communication.
- Manage hazardous waste storage and disposal in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Respond to emergencies or incidents promptly to mitigate risks.
- Maintain a current training on new Environmental and Air Quality company training required for executing field compliance tasks.
- Support as directed on field based Environmental inspection, data collection, recordkeeping to support Prairie Operating’s Environmental compliance programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, air quality permits.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and regulatory reporting software.
- Ability to work independently in remote field locations with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with operators, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Attention to detail for accurate reporting and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 2 years of oil and gas air compliance required
- OGI Certification and experience required.
- 2-5 years of operational experience as lease operator required; ability to conduct basic LDAR component repairs and maintenance.
- 2-3 years of experience in Optical Gas Imaging and maintain certification and training as directed by Environmental Manager
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with clean driving record
- Willingness to travel extensively within Colorado for site inspections.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.- Majority of work will be split between field office and outdoors under variable weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- May require occasional lifting of heavy objects.
- Physical ability to perform routine maintenance on oil and gas as required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Travel outside basin less than 5%
