JOB SUMMARY
The Reservoir Engineering Manager will lead the reservoir engineering team to optimize hydrocarbon recovery, enhance reservoir performance, and align reservoir management strategies with organizational goals. The position involves technical leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient reservoir development and production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee reservoir modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize field development plans and production strategies
- Works closely with the Senior Vice President of Engineering on all tasks related to optimizing asset development
- Supports the process for the annual plan and budget cycle
- Prepares analyses using data analysis tools like Excel and Spotfire
- Utilizes ARIES to generate AFEs and supporting documentation
- Constructs and maintains Spotfire databases that are linked to internal systems for capital, expenses, and production
- Improves processes using an array of software packages including Excel, Access, Aries, Spotfire, Enverus, Python
- Assists with deal evaluations: build ARIES databases, gather and verify data, run preliminary economic analysis and metrics
- Maintains corporate reserves database in ARIES for quarterly and annual update cycles in collaboration with engineers, other departments, and 3rd party reserves auditors
- Tracks non-op well status, capital spend and reviews and updates monthly accruals for capital and expenses
- Compiles data, builds and maintains databases to support the reservoir engineer in annual type curve review process.
- Conduct comprehensive reservoir engineering analyses to optimize reservoir development and management.
- Update and construct reservoir models using new data to improve understanding of reservoir characteristics and performance.
- Estimate hydrocarbons in place, forecast reservoir behavior, and contribute to initiatives aimed at maximizing oil recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (geology, petrophysics, etc.) for detailed reservoir evaluations.
- Perform simulation modeling to analyze data and develop strategies for enhanced recovery techniques.
- Maintain accurate reservoir and well-file records, advise operators on testing procedures, and ensure compliance with testing standards.
- Lead field development planning, reservoir performance reviews, and production optimization initiatives.
- Participate in regulatory compliance activities and liaise with government bodies as needed.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- 5 Years of reserves experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set, with a curiosity to keep learning
- Ability to compile and present data clearly using the best available tools
- Proficiency in ARIES, Access and Excel required, exposure to database tools such as SQL strongly preferred
- Programming background and aptitude (experience or education) strongly preferred

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
