What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Patient Care - Elbow Lake position at PRAIRIE RIDGE HOSPITAL AND HEALTH SERVICES INC?
The Manager of Patient Care - Elbow Lake will be responsible for supervising Elbow Lake Hospital staff and supporting nursing services at Elbow Lake, while collaborating with Enterprise leaders to create a collaborative culture across the Enterprise. This role will report to the LRHC Director of Inpatient Services.
The purpose of this position is to serve four primary functions at the Elbow Lake Medical Center including:
- Onsite Leadership for those areas both under direct and indirect supervision
- Support for Enterprise activities
- Serve as a Critical Access Hospital Regulatory Resource
The position provides strategic and operational accountability for the following programs and services at the Elbow Lake Medical Center:
- Inpatient and Outpatient Hospital Services
- Emergency Department and Trauma Program
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Accountable for change management, quality and safety improvement, safe staffing, financial planning and policy/program implementation for those areas under leadership.
- Accountable for supporting staff to create an environment that promotes employee recruitment/retention, employee engagement, process improvement and excellent communication with employees.
- Responsible for patient centered care across the age continuum including enhancing patient and family experiences while supporting patient care givers.
- Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with the Medical Staff. Involves the Medical Staff in strategic planning, program and policy development/implementation and process improvement initiatives. Accountable for establishing relationships and working closely with community partners including law enforcement, ambulance companies, contracted telemedicine services and transport services.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Registered nurse with current licensure in Minnesota. Baccalaureate or master's degree preferred. BLS, ACLS or CALS preferred.
- Experience: Must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to create collaborative relationships between departments. Preferred three to five years Critical Access Hospital nursing experience. Leadership experience in the medical field preferred. Experience with change management and quality improvement preferred.
