Responsibilities
1. Prepare and provide lecture according to the required curriculum for industry credentials. This includes fundamentals of human anatomy, physiology, microbiology and infection control, decontamination and instrumentation preparation, preparing and packaging instruments for sterilization, sterilization process, storage and distribution procedures, inventory control, record keeping, patient confidentiality and administrative tasks.
2. Plan for instructional activities supporting curriculum.
3. Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluations mechanisms.
4. Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional activities.
5. Organize concepts to be taught in a logical and understandable manner covering all objectives outlined in the course syllabus.
6. Use appropriate Learning Management Systems (LMS), and assessment tools to ensure learning outcomes are met.
7. Monitor student attendance and retention and documents (as required).
8. Plan and update the curriculum with students to help them achieve their educational goals.
9. Effectively communicate with students to help them achieve their educational goals.
10. Advise students as it relates to school policies and satisfactory performance and maintain communication with the program coordinator regarding such activity.
11. Grade assignments, return graded assignments to students, and assign final satisfactory/unsatisfactory grades for all students in a timely manner.
12. Process course midterm and end grades according to policy.
13. Submit timely, written notice of textbook, supply, instructional and equipment needs to the program coordinator (as required).
14. Communicate with the program coordinator and/or manager on challenges or noteworthy issues or concerns related to students.
15. Maintain on-time attendance and schedule adherence.
16. Maintain a positive attitude and support a commitment to departmental excellence.
17. Maintain instructional service levels and productivity with efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
18. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the department, consistent with the role of this position.
Qualifications
- Minimum QualificationsCurrent Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Instructional/training experience.
- Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in related field, or minimum related employment and/or instructional experience of five years Experienced user of education LMS (preferably Desire2Learn)
- Experience teaching, especially at the community college level
- Experience working with culturally and intellectually diverse groups
- Ability to create diverse teaching methods
Salary : $25 - $30
