Prairie State Legal Services is a nonprofit legal aid organization that provides civil legal services to low-income, elderly, and people with disabilities. PSLS has 11 offices serving 36 counties throughout northern and central Illinois. Prairie State focuses services on legal problems that impact the ability of our clients to meet their basic human needs, including physical safety, access to healthcare, adequate housing, and similar needs. It is the only legal aid organization in the majority of its service area.
PSLS is currently seeking a Grants Supervisor. This role reports to the Director of Resource Development and is responsible for assisting the Director of the Resource Department in the development of grants staff and the creation, implementation, and monitoring of the grant maintenance process. The Grants Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the work of the Grants Team to ensure the proper grant maintenance processes are followed by grant staff and working with the Director of Resource Development to identify, create, implement, and evaluate improvements/corrections to grant processes and performance.
Responsibilities
Among other duties as assigned, the Grants Supervisor will:
- Lead the Grants Team in developing, implementing, and monitoring grant processes and procedures in PSLS Grant Project Management and Case Management software
- Train and provide oversight to the Grants Team on established processes and procedures
- Run error checks and monitoring reports regularly to monitor compliance with established processes and procedures and identify areas of need
- Setting annual goals and monitoring performance metrics
- Ensure all PSLS grants have standardized grant reports and directions
- Communicating frequently with Grants Team members to build relationships and monitor performance
Salary and Benefits
The Grants Supervisor position is a full-time position at 37.5 hours per week and will be located in the office that best suits the chosen candidate. The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $98,078 annually. The starting salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on prior relevant experience. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3-5 years of previous experience successfully acquiring and administering government grants
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong people skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Understanding of and experience working within the legal community preferred
- Demonstrated experience in meeting fundraising goals
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with high-level staff and funders
- Proficiencies in fundraising software, project management software, and case management software, preferably ClickUp, Raiser's Edge NXT, and Legal Server
- A solid understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of PSLS
- Handles adversity with grace, does not take criticism personally, and keeps a sense of perspective
