Job Description
Tutor/Consultants work a maximum of 15 hours and assist students with writing, speech, and debate assignments and complete classroom presentations/visits. You will report directly to Dr. Therese Pennell and work closely with GA's and other undergraduate tutors to make sure that CWPD fulfills its goals of assisting students to successfully complete academic writing.
Responsibilities:
- Writing Consultant: working with writers in preparing papers such as brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing papers.
- Tutors: prepare, complete class presentations, and workshops with/for professors. Tutors will have background in writing and formatting papers and will be trained in honing these skills to help peers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
- Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
- No prior experience necessary
- For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours for the fall/spring terms.
