Responsibilities

This role supports the Perinatal IOP program. Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, the associate therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy as assigned. The therapist trainee collaborates in a multi-disciplinary setting with other PrairieCare clinicians to provide comprehensive treatment to the patients and families they serve.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Provide group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy for assigned patients, providing services under the license of clinical supervisor
  • May work with adolescents, and adults with mental illness and/or a combination thereof, as assigned
  • Provide collaborative coverage for other associate therapists/therapists across other treatment teams, settings, and levels of care throughout the organization when the need arises, as assigned
  • Contributes to the interdisciplinary team the perspective of their unique training and supports the clinical lens in supporting staff from other disciplines
  • Work towards independent licensure including meeting board requirements
  • Maintain active relationship with clinical supervisors as defined within policy and as per supervision contract
  • Develop increasing autonomy in providing clinical care
  • Build skills in differential diagnosis
  • Develop and assign treatment goals and interventions
  • Collaborate with treatment team/program staff and referring providers to maintain continuity of care
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment team rounds
  • Attend required training seminars, group supervision, and regular staff meetings
  • Maintain clinical records in compliance with PrairieCare policies and regulatory standards
  • Support quality assurance and peer review activities as assigned
  • Maintain professional and collaborative relationships with colleagues in the program and broader PrairieCare
  • Maintain confidentiality of client medical record according to program policy and HIPAA rules
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely billing records per program requirements
  • Ensure compliance with program policies, external regulatory standards, and payer requirements
  • Participate in holds/restraints processes as required by patient safety needs and as trained
  • Oriented towards, educated in, and embracing interculturally responsive functioning from lenses of gender, race, age, and other cultural identifications and differences

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or related field.
  • Associate level license (LAMFT, LGSW, LPC) in the State of Minnesota and meeting requirements for accrual of clinical supervision and clinical experience in application towards independent licensure.
  • Stated desire to learn about and immerse clinical work within intensive levels of mental health care
  • Stated desire to work with children, adolescents, adults (as applicable to role) and families
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards governing care delivery and operations
  • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
  • Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
  • After training, be able to support management of disruptive and explosive patients.

Pay range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000 depending on education and experience.
