As Chef De Cuisine, you will play a crucial role in shaping the culinary experience at Newport Healthcare! In this pivotal position, you will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring that our meal offerings not only meet but exceed the highest quality standards. You’ll lead, inspire, and support a talented team of chefs and kitchen staff, while also creating menus that are both nutritious and appealing to our clients.
Responsibilities
Team Management: Oversee the overall management of the culinary staff, including onboarding, conducting performance evaluations, and identifying additional training needs to ensure a high-performing team.
Food Preparation Oversight: Control and direct the food preparation process, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Client Satisfaction: Strive for excellence in culinary offerings, as evidenced by positive client and family satisfaction scores. Your leadership will directly impact the dining experience of our clients.
Budget and Purchasing: Manage culinary purchasing and budget, ensuring cost-effective practices while maintaining quality ingredients.
Sanitation and Safety: Monitor sanitation practices in the kitchen and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, including State Health and Hygiene Requirements.
Food Hygiene Practices: Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene practices to ensure the safety and well-being of all clients and staff.
Collaboration with Chefs: Work closely with chefs of all levels, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and teamwork.
Problem Resolution: Ensure quick resolution of any kitchen issues to maintain a smooth-running operation.
Process Optimization: Streamline kitchen processes to enhance service efficiency and productivity, ensuring that meals are delivered promptly and effectively.
Menu Development: Collaborate with the Culinary Services Director to create diverse, healthy, nutritious, and organic menus, potentially working alongside a registered dietitian to meet the dietary needs of our clients.
Staff Scheduling: Create and maintain schedules for all culinary staff, ensuring adequate coverage and support for kitchen operations.
Leadership Participation: Attend leadership team meetings to contribute to the overall strategic direction of culinary services.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission of Newport Healthcare.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Registered Dietician, Culinary Arts, Business, or Hospitality Management preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years’ relevant culinary experience.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ in a culinary leadership role managing or supporting culinary operations of a multi-site national company.
- Possess current ServSafe certification, applicable State Food Safe certification.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint) required.
