Responsibilities
The role involves diagnosing and treating individuals with psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders, and medical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Directs the interdisciplinary team in alignment with PrairieCare’s treatment programs and core philosophy.
- Ensures high-quality care for adults, adolescents, children, and their families dealing with psychiatric and substance use disorders, in accordance with granted Medical Staff privileges.
- Provides services across various settings, including hospital, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient, or residential programs.
- Maintains knowledge of available follow-up resources for adults, adolescents, and children.
- Facilitates individual and family therapy sessions.
Qualifications for Psychiatrist:
- Must hold a valid medical license from the State of Minnesota.
- Completion of an accredited Postgraduate Training Residency is required.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry is necessary; Board Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is mandatory for the Brooklyn Park Inpatient position.
- Capability to uphold necessary medical staff privileges and maintain malpractice insurance.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders in adults, adolescents, and children, along with advanced understanding of abnormal psychology principles.
- Must handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
- Proficient in summarizing relevant clinical information through written communication and medical documentation.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.
- Ability to navigate and utilize the intranet site as needed.
- Skilled at transitioning smoothly and quickly between diverse tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond swiftly and calmly as part of a team in volatile or emergency situations.
- Capable of making sound decisions under stress.
- After training, must be able to manage disruptive and aggressive patients.
- DEA registration is required.
Pay range for this position is $300,000 to $325,000 depending on education and experience.
