The Structure Construction Laborer is responsible for performing physical and manual labor on construction sites to assist in building, maintaining , repairing structures , and other infr astructure projects . This role involves handling materials, operating tools, preparing job sites, and assisting skilled tradespeople to ensure efficient and safe project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Clear and prepare construction sites by removing debris, digging trenches, and setting up equipment .
Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, and other materials as needed.
Assist with framing, formwork, scaffolding, and other structural assembly .
Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and install building materials.
Provide support to carpenters, masons, welders, and other skilled workers.
Operate basic construction machinery, such as jackhammers, drills, compactors, and saws .
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
Follow safety protocols while using heavy machinery and lifting materials.
Adhere to OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards .
Wear and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) .
Identify and report potential hazards on the job site.
Required Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Two (2) or more years of related work experience demonstrating knowledge of construction skills, including basic understanding of construction tools, materials, and safety practices.
Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure their well-being and the safety of others.
The role involves physical labor, including operating heavy machinery and equipment, as well as lifting and moving heavy objects for loading and unloading.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.
This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
