What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Aide - Part-time, days position at Prairieview Lutheran Homes?
The Laundry Aide is responsible for the day-to-day laundry functions. Job responsibilities include collecting soiled linens or clothing, sorting laundry by color and fabric type, performing stain treatments, and operating laundry machines to wash and dry items.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Demonstrates knowledge of department policies and procedures
2. Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of chemicals
3. Follow proper protocol for machines and use the correct temperatures according to multiple fabric types
4. Sort, pre-treat, fold and hang all laundry accordingly
5. Deliver residents laundry to the proper rooms and put away accordingly
6. Maintains high standards and works steadily at an efficient pace
7. Interacts friendly and supportively with staff, patients, visitors and coworkers
8. Respects all property of Prairieview Lutheran Home
9. Accepts suggestions and direction from supervisors and staff
10. Honors department’s attendance, break, behavior, dress and safety codes.
11. Accepts and absorbs department education programs
12. Exercises good judgment while working around patients and visitors
13. Always maintains a professional mannerism
14. Takes initiative in rendering service or responding to needs
15. Reports any safety issues for repairs
16. Responds to direction as provided by director
17. Assists other associates as necessary
18. All other duties as assigned
