JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist II will provide advanced professional, technical, and analytical support in a variety of areas, including but not limited to employee relations, offboarding, performance management, training and development, employee engagement, and other complex and sensitive personnel-related assignments. This is a local position and the work is performed onsite at Praters, Inc., Rossville, GA, warehouse location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, maintain adherence to privacy standards, and effectively communicate and enforce company policies.
- Deliver strategic support to the company's operations divisions by addressing employee relations, facilitating training and development, providing counseling, assisting with workers' compensation claims, and enhancing employee engagement initiatives.
- Manage employee relations for the operations division, overseeing disciplinary actions, internal investigations, employee complaints, terminations, exit interviews, and unemployment claims.
- Support employment recruiters in meeting staffing needs by coordinating and facilitating interviews for production department roles.
- Coordinate and monitor temporary labor staffing for all production departments to ensure timely and efficient support.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with temporary staffing agencies while negotiating labor agreements and managing contractual terms.
- Oversee, document, and evaluate compliance with mandatory and optional training programs, continuing education, and workplace assessments—including safety and equipment training, anti-harassment courses, employment physicals, performance evaluations, aptitude tests, and certifications.
- Take ownership of accurately collecting, maintaining, updating, and reporting employee data within the HRIS system to ensure data integrity and effective HR operations.
- Monitor, analyze, and report weekly attendance hotline activity and timecard data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Input data and generate regular HR reports for analysis, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights.
- Conduct periodic personnel audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Represent the company at career and college fairs to attract top talent and promote the organization's employer brand.
- Assist with assigned projects related to the HR Department’s strategic goals and ongoing continuous improvement, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide comprehensive support to the HR Director and team as required, ensuring smooth operations and effective execution of HR initiatives.
- Perform administrative support tasks, such as filing documents, records, and reports in an organized manner.
- Pursue ongoing HR education through courses, webinars, and conferences to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Complete special projects upon request and other duties as assigned.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS NEEDED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or other related fields, or equivalent certification.
- Three (3) plus years of prior human resources experience, preferably in employee/labor relations.
- Knowledge of HR principles, regulations, and U.S. labor laws.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, attention to detail, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and Google Suite software.
- Ability to work well both in a team environment and independently.
