SUMMARY:
The Sourcing/Procurement Manager will play a key role in the sourcing and planning of materials, supplies and services, identifying new sources of supply, negotiating, coordinating, and assuring that assigned spend categories are purchased at the lowest possible cost. They will leverage supply spending while driving productivity, identify key spend pools for leveraging consolidation, and implement ongoing Supplier Performance Metrics /KPI's. This position will also be responsible for addressing any cost discrepancies and/or late supply orders with suppliers, while expediting orders appropriately to ensure timely delivery.
The Sourcing/Procurement Manager will also be responsible for supervising the Warehouse & Inventory teams and overseeing any projects within those departments, including upcoming WMS Implementation. They will work with the supervisors/managers of those departments to ensure smooth and effective operations within these departments.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for identifying new sources of supply, negotiating, coordinating, and assuring that assigned spend categories are purchased at the lowest possible cost
- Work closely with internal teams for requested product/material costs: Request price quotes from vendors via RFP's; compare quotes against requirements and ensure PO's match to agreed-to costs
- Work closely with accounting and accounts receivable department on goods receipts and any other outstanding purchasing and/or quality/credit issues
- Maintain preferred supplier list for internal teams that include all agreed-to costs and quotes given from outside suppliers
- Collaborate with necessary internal and external teams to execute a success implementation of WMS Inventory software.
- Maintain the WMS Inventory System once implemented and train employees on system as needed.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality complaints and drive corrective action and credits, when needed
- Work with corporate inventory control manager on root cause analyses and resolving inventory control problems.
- Report on inventory activities, changes and variances, including trends and root cause analysis
- Lead, develop and mentor inventory team
- Perform other assigned duties as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Intermediate level of computer skills in Microsoft Office; Excel knowledge (Pivot tables, V-lookups, formulas, etc.) and capable of learning different software
- Bachelor degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years' purchasing/sourcing experience.
- 1 to 2 years' experience in inventory, distribution and operational procedures
- 1 to 2 years managerial or supervisory experience.
- Mathematical acumen and business communication skills
- Must be proactive and able to work effectively and efficiently in a high paced, rapidly changing, environment
- Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines
- Experience in project management and working with cross functional teams
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes
- Bachelor degree preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. High Analytical skills.
