Summary
We are seeking a Deputy General Manager to help run operations at Pratt & Whitney Autoair (PWAA) in Lansing, MI. The Deputy General Manager will report directly to General Manager and will be responsible for day-to-day operations for the Aftermarket Team.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Manage a team of 15 salary and 150 hourly associates across 3 shifts
Accountable manager for production deliveries and schedule
Responsible for managing cost of sales and site cost per hour
Drive a culture that focuses on safety and quality of work by eliminating barriers to success
Coordinate with customers to ensure engine deliveries
Key advisor to general manager in site growth plan
Present to executive team on state of the business
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or Engineering discipline and 12 years of experience in Engineering, Operations or Project Management; OR Advanced Degree and 10 years of relevant experience
US Citizenship required due to government contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
Aerospace Aftermarket Operations MRO experience preferred
Experience with new engine component repair development
Familiarity with Test Engine Equipment
History of managing interdisciplinary teams
Demonstrated history working in a union environment
Experience managing resources and large complex projects
History of successful completion of major projects and initiatives
Other skills and abilities:
Demonstrated presentation and communication skills
Strong customer focus, analytical skills, and business knowledge
Proven ability to lead teams and influence people outside of direct chain of command
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt easily to changing business conditions
Determination and willingness to overcome obstacles and setbacks
P&L exposure
SAP and Solumina experience a plus
Understanding of supply chain and procurement processes
