What you will do:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly motivated individual to be the Casting Lab Project Engineering Discipline Lead. This role is a critical leadership role responsible for project management of new casting projects in the Rapid Prototype Casting Lab (RPCL). The advanced castings under development are enabling materials that increase the temperature capability of jet engine components. Through successful development of these castings, P&W will deliver engines that are more fuel efficient, lighter weight, and more durable for commercial and military applications. This role is a challenging and rewarding leadership development opportunity.
This role is:
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

- Project management of New Product Introduction (NPI) activities at the RPCL, which includes developing project schedules and cost estimates, leading the team through prioritization of tasks to meet the committed schedule, and providing regular status of financial and schedule performance
- Developing internal standard work for the RPCL Project Discipline to cover project planning and risk management activities.
- Leadership of the RPCL team in transitioning production processes to the Advanced Casting Foundry. This will include ensuring part and facility industrial requirements are understood by the team and project development plans are aligned to meet those requirements.
- Using probabilistic scheduling tools and Critical Chain Execution concepts to help guide the team through NPI efforts
- Mentorship of RPCL engineering team in project engineering
- Travel less than 10%
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field and 10 years of experience; or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 7 years experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Experience with program management and risk mitigation
- Experience executing projects in a fast-paced, high pressure teaming environment
- Experience with castings
- Understanding of the Manufacturing Readiness Level process
