This is a 2nd Shift position: Monday - Thursday, 4:15pm - 2:45am
Relocation assistance is not offered and will not be considered.
Employees must be in their role for 12 months before applying.
What You Will Learn: The Pratt & Whitney Site in Asheville, NC implements manufacturing industry 4.0 initiatives, to include state of the art manufacturing processes. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to learn and drive impactful production on some of the newest machines on a greenfield site.

What is My Role Type? In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is Onsite. Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

What You Will Do:
- Perform Visual and Dimensional inspections for customer returns.
- Perform Nonconformance Induction process for MRB-Quality Clinic.
- Work from applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, and other pertinent instructions to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools, gages and other equipment.
- Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments including automated measuring machines where program instructions are well defined to check dimensions and record results.
- Perform necessary problem solving to determine extent of nonconformance and complete documentation.
- Perform Solumina required job audits for Op Cert surveillance
- Perform OpCert overinspects, as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of and compliance with customer/Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)/Joint Aviation Administration (JAA) technical data as applicable to the work assigned.
- Detailed inspection cert is required at the conclusion of training.
- Train other operators to perform work tasks.
- Provide technical support and maintain a strong working relationship with the RX & DX Inspection and MRB teams.
- May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years working with quality methods and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Familiarity with inspection gauges and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Prior experience in an aerospace OEM or MRO shop
