The Statistics and Data Analytics group works with customers across the company to optimize decision making under uncertainty. Our statisticians work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, aftermarket, and finance teams on an incredibly diverse range of projects to bring rigorous statistical analysis to bear in making technical and business decisions using all available data. Examples of projects include designing and analyzing experiments, building hierarchical models from measured data, evaluating significance of engineering and process changes on performance, establishing limits based on observed distributions, and more. Statisticians in our group have the opportunity on a daily basis to apply and develop their skills in nearly every area of statistics.
What You Will Do
The Statistics and Data Analytics team recognizes & supports the power of turning data into insights. We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic statistician to join our team. As a Statistician you will help guide the company as it navigates through a myriad of engineering and business challenges. You will work on deeply diverse projects that require significant knowledge of statistics, and have the opportunity every single day to apply, and develop your skills in nearly every area of statistics. The Statistician will work effectively with others to address diverse challenges within a rigorous statistical framework.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and analysts using classical and modern statistical learning methods
- Communicate effectively with non-statisticians and engage in engineering discussions with all levels of the organization
- Train engineers in various systems and technologies including Minitab, R, Python and survival analysis
- Exhibit proven knowledge in High Dimensional Data Analysis, Bayesian Methods, Survival Analysis, Data Management, General Linear Models, Probability, Hypothesis Testing, Experimental Design, Categorical Data Analysis, Statistical Process Control
- Participate in external and internal learning opportunities
- Relocation provided
- Bachelor's Degree & Master's in Statistics (Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science)
- 3 years of Statistics experience with an advanced degree
- Must be a U.S. person/permanent resident "Green Card" holder
- Experience in Data Science, Machine learning and Survival Analysis.
