What You Will Do:

Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering has a unique opportunity for an experienced Engineer seeking a Technical and Regulatory career growth path with a longer term goal of becoming an ODA Unit Member (ODA-UM).

  • Work closely with experienced aftermarket ODA Unit Members to perform regulatory compliance and technical document reviews for commercial turbine engine component repairs.
  • Quickly master competencies required to independently evaluate repairs for correct technical content, accuracy and adherence to Pratt & Whitney Engineering Standard Work.
  • Develop design competencies for all engine components from inlet to exhaust.
  • Utilize their interpersonal strengths to effectively communicate with repair development engineers, structural analysis engineers, metallurgists, CIPT’s, ODA-UM, and P&WC Design Approval Appointee’s to ensure repairs meet all technical and substantiation requirements and allow Regulatory Finding of Compliance.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and the ability to assess, understand and interpret technical data such as engine certification and test reports, structural analysis reports, systems analysis, service documents, engine performance & operability, repair and manufacturing processes
  • An understanding of FAA Orders, advisory materials and other guidance materials
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • 10% Travel

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • The ability to determine export Jurisdiction & Classification of engineering repair data is a plus.
  • CORE Operating system knowledge is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in gas turbine engine design / development and/or Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) industry is strongly desired.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
