Medical Assistant, Pendleton Family Medicine

Job Description

Pendleton Family Medicine, part of Praxis Health, is seeking a friendly and energetic Medical Assistant with a strong attention to detail to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with our healthcare team to support physicians and providers in delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attends work regularly and on time.
• Maintains a reputation for effective interpersonal relations with team, supervisors, and patients.
• Rooms patients within 4-6 minutes and ensures their comfort and satisfaction while making sure that provider is timely with starting patient visits.
• Effectively communicates with the care team to ensure the flow of the patient care is successful.
• Captures and accurately documents full vitals (Blood pressure, temperature, weight, height, O2, pulse)
• Reviews medications/allergies – verifies patient is taking all medications listed – state medication name, dosage, and frequency. Thoroughly updates the medication list with any reconciliation needed. Verify all allergies listed are accurate and no new allergies.
• Performs Intake Function – press intake button, verify you are in-taking today’s date.
• Captures patient’s chief complaint and enters into electronic health records (EHR) system.
• Provides applicable informational forms to patients as result of chart preparation routine.
• Assists with patient discharge – provides after visit summary.
• Completes room turnover process (including, but not limited to cleaning-re-stocking).
• Stocks examination rooms/notifies supply personnel when items are low.
• Completes “tasks” and phone calls daily with guidance from supervisor or ACA.
• Performs EKG, injections, vaccines under supervision.
• Completes other tasks as directed by supervisor or ACA.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.91 per hour DOE

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 7:30am - 6:00pm

Location: 2450 SW Perkins Ave.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
• A Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution is preferred, but not required. A community college program in medical assisting is also beneficial.

Experience:

• Recent experience as a Medical Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in EKG procedures, taking vital signs, venipuncture, capillary blood draws, and administering injections is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.

Skills:

• Strong ability to learn and a genuine passion for serving others.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with excellent organization and attention to detail.

Other Requirements:

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
• Up-to-date health records, including required immunizations for healthcare work (e.g., Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis).

General Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Work Environment: Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings.

OSHA Category: This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.

Salary : $18 - $22
