Position Summary : This is an intermediate level production position with the Production Operations. Senior Packagers are assigned to assist Line Supervisors with their ability to work at any production line capable to use the majority of the production equipment. This position is routine and repetitive in nature. Work with all supervision and employees to ensure that cGMPs, and Praxis' SOPs, policies and work instructions are being followed.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- More than 75% of this role is performing the functions of a Packager. Some of these duties may include (but are not limited to) : cartoning, labeling, de-palletizing, dump hopper, bundling, skid building, and shrink wrapping.
- Proficiently runs at high speeds production equipment : such as the RF machine, Cartoons, Shanklin, IIpack, L-Bars, Tapers.
- Senior Packagers assist with more complicated and specialized product lines.
- Works independently with little oversight or explanation needed.
- Trains others on different stations and perform minor adjustments and set up / changeover (once trained) on production equipment.
- Work with Line Supervisor when comparing the line to the approved line set-up and rearrange if necessary.
- Assist Line Supervisor with counting all damaged material at the end of every job for the Line Supervisor to record on damaged materials report.
- Assist with break coverage as needed.
- Communicate any concerns which may affect productivity, safety or quality to the Line Supervisor and / or Shift Supervisor.
- Carry out principles of cGMP, good housekeeping and 5S as required and directed.
- Follow quality instructions and ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist others on the line, as needed.
- Communicate any concerns which may affect productivity, safety or quality to the Line Supervisor or Shift Supervisor.
- Responsible for adherence to all Company policies and procedures.
- Ensures proper PPE's and Safety procedures are followed.
- Identifies alpha numeric sequences.
- Prints and Sign employee's own name.
- Flexibly works other shifts, shifts maybe 8, 10 or 12 hours as needed.
- Performs any other functions and duties assigned and necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of Praxis Packaging Solutions.
Qualifications
Communication Skills :
Physical Requirements and Work Environment : Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, twist, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch for up to 8 or 10 hours. Raise and lower an object from one level to another, 20-30 lbs. Good (corrected) eyesight and hand / eye coordination. Normal office environment with little exposure to dust and weather conditions prevalent at the time (i.e., cold, hot / humid). May also require visits to production area - where employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust and weather conditions prevalent at the time (cold, hot / humid). Must be able to work full time. 8, 10, or 12 hours, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
