Job Description
Successful Candidates will work in a team environment that is responsible for supporting
Praxis’s assembly and manufacturing division with metal fabrication, including sheet metal
fabrication, machined and additively manufactured parts. The candidates of the Custom
Fabrication and Additive Manufacturing department will be working with the team on a variety of
special projects for Praxis across several industries, including aerospace and defense,
consumer product markets, entertainment, and more. Praxis’s goal is to find candidates that will
utilize their background, experience, imaginative thinking, and hard work to assist in the
development of the capabilities of the team, as well as the department as we expand into new
industries.
Qualifications:
Successful Candidates should have experience or, at least, working knowledge of the following
areas:
Program CNC machines (Haas VF4, VF5, and Nakamura AS-200L MillTurn Lathe)
exclusively using Mastercam for both milling and turning operations.
Create accurate CAD files using SolidWorks to support programming workflow.
Develop efficient and precise CNC programs by converting CAD files into Mastercam
toolpaths for prototypes and low-volume production.
Set up CNC machines, including tool selection, fixture design, and machine calibration,
to ensure accurate and high-quality part production.
Troubleshoot and resolve any programming or machine-related issues during
production, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient workflows.
Work closely with the team to refine design and machining strategies, offering input on
process improvements.
Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure parts meet tolerances, utilizing
precision measuring tools.
Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean and organized work
environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Expert-level proficiency in Mastercam for CNC programming, including 2D/3D
toolpath creation, with some 4 th axis.
At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience programming CNC machines, specifically for
low-volume and prototype manufacturing.
Strong experience programming and operating Haas VF4, VF5, and Nakamura
MillTurn lathe machines.
In-depth knowledge of G-code and M-code programming, tool offsets, and part fixturing.
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and blueprints.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize
machining processes for efficiency and quality.
Ability to work in a strong team environment, collaborating with team members to build
parts that have never been built before.
